gimme more owls.

So, owls are pretty much my favorite thing besides the color purple and pancakes. Strangely, they are suddenly very fashionable. Which does not bode well for me since people are always buying amazing owl products out from under me. Stop it already, people! Here are some amazing owl related products that I’m currently drooling over. Of course, none of this is actually as cool as a real owl.

hello colette!

It finally arrived!!! I’ve been wanting the Macaron pattern so desperately. Although, I really can’t afford $18 patterns. Thankfully there’s ebay! I pretty much spent all of yesterday working on this dress. The pattern is amazing. Perfect fit, creative and practical packaging, and super easy to follow illustrated instructions.

I adjusted the pattern because the contrast fabric I used didn’t look very good as the middle band. So, I cut that out and just attached the skirt to the bodice. It turned out so cute, it looks like some thing from the 60s. And the best news? There’s pockets! Pockets!!!

I am going to wear this for pretty much every opportunity possible.

the linda

I got around to finishing Linda #8164 skirt from Burda Style this week! This was such an easy project, and I was able to finish it in less than an hour! The side zipper was a challenge, seeing as all of the zippers I have are quite wonky and vintage. And somehow I made this skirt a size too big for myself. Luckily I was able to put little snaps on the side to keep it in check. The fabric is a heavy weight stretch knit that is brown with little white flecks (that you can’t really see in the photos). Very cute, and I love it with this green thrifted GAP ruffle top I got at Salvation Army awhile back.

coffee date dress

I finally got around to photographing my version of the Coffee Date Dress. I love it! I still have a couple finishing touches to work out, but it’s definitely coming out lovely. This pattern fit me perfectly, and it was so easy to construct, even without using directions, like I did. Who needs directions anyway?

after much wait…

…I’m posting photos of me wearing the blouse I designed from that fabric I’m obsessed with. I really love this shirt.

all about chloe

I can’t stop thinking about all the pretty dresses from Chloe. They’re so soft and feminine and slightly vintage looking. Definitely one of my favorite.

goodbye anna

I was sooooooo sad to see Anna go last night on Project Runway. She was incredibly nice, adorable and she made pretty things.

I don’t know why everyone hated her outfit. I actually thought it was really edgy and cute and could actually see Heidi wearing it. But Heidi does wear a lot of ugly things…I would have worn your outfit, Anna. :)
